What Are Oracle Cards?
Oracle Cards are not the same as tarot cards… Oracle decks are a tool of self-reflection to add to your magical and spiritual practice, or just to use for fun. And while oracle cards can offer insight similar to tarot cards, there are some major differences. Tarot is a series of 78 cards based on established meanings from cards developed in the 13th century… Oracle cards do not hold the same strict parameters and are relatively modern in their creation and practice coming into popular existence in the early 1900s. Oracle decks can be any number of cards based on a multitude of imagery and themes.
Tarot cards are like pages to a book, each card is one page in the story, whereas oracle cards are like a whole chapter. A wider section of the story. You can use both types of cards in a single sitting for a fuller understanding of current energies or questions! Most people tend to use multiple tarot cards in readings compared to a single oracle card being pulled in an oracle reading.
The Artwork is unique to each individual oracle deck and meant to be used intuitively. The Whoopsy Daisies Oracle was created to be used on their own or in conjunction with the Whoopsy Daisies Tarot deck.
WELCOME TO THE WHOOPSY DAISIES ORACLE
There is no skillset required to read oracle cards. They are easily approachable for everyone at every skill level. Oracle cards are meant to be simple tools for positive change. They have fewer rules than tarot cards and you don't have to do full spread layouts to gain understanding.
This Whoopsy Daisies Oracle deck is based the themes of LUCK, FATE, LOVE, HEALING, FORTUNE and MAGIC. Each card depicts an event, energy, situation or emotion meant to open an intuitive dialogue with your inner self.
These cards can be used daily for reflection, meditation, or in a tarot-inspired spread and are meant to help you develop your intuition, self-love, inner beauty, and emotional well-being
How to Begin Reading Oracle
- Infuse the cards with your energy. Hold them in your hands and shuffle them until you feel ready to begin. There is no right or wrong way to get to this point. When it feels right…You are ready.
- Be clear about what you want guidance on. You can ask a specific question or ask for a general reading regarding something that needs your attention.
- When you are ready you can pull 1 or as many cards as you feel you need. The more cards you pull the more in-depth the reading will become, however novice readers may be overwhelmed with too many cards at once.
- Whether you choose one or multiple cards, lay them down on a table on flat surface and turn them over. Look at the imagery they are showing you.
- Sit with the card(s) and look at their colours, imagery, numbers, etc ,. Ask yourself what the artwork is saying to you. How do you feel looking at the card? What emotion does it stir?, What correlations does it make in your understanding of the world?
- Look to the card reference meanings for the intended explanations of the card and add to that meaning by tapping into your own intuitive powers. Whatever the imagery makes you think of or pops into your head is the point. THAT is where the true message can be found.
- Sum up the main message by telling a story about the card and the imagery it plucks from your heart, head and deep inner spirit.
A common way to use Oracle cards is to shuffle a deck and pull a single card for inspiration or insight into a situation.
This single card may be a current situation you are dealing with, or an energy that may appear. Meditate on what it is trying to tell you.
You can also throw various spreads that are similar to how people use tarot cards to gain insight into things in your life. If you're new to using oracle cards (or even if you're an old pro) try starting each morning with an oracle card meditation.
